adding a room to an older mobile?
I have an older (1978) mobile home in a beautiful setting, we bought the place about a year ago with the thought of adding to it or pulling it down and getting a new one on the land, it seems that we must go for the first option as we cannot afford a new home yet, so in the meantime i was thinking of adding a room across the back of the property, we have a double wide (24 ft across) and i was thinking of building a room 12 ft out from the original outside wall, ie' adding a 12ft deep room across the entire 24ft width, my question is ........
is it possible or allowed to add a traditional stick built room (on piers) to an existing mobile home on a permanent foundation? any thoughts, hints, tips?

Yes, you can add to the existing building, but think about your roofline and the proper drainage necessary to completely remove rainfall and consider snow load. By widening the building you may have to rethink the roof to provide proper pitch.
