Joist sistering / bridging

When bridging or sistering joists. Should the top of the bridge/sister (that meets the subfloor) be glued or nailed to prevent squeeks from being introduced? Thx!

If you still have access from the top, and your finish flooring is not installed, glue and nails. If this is a retrofit, use glue on the top surface and nail it from the sides. The glue will adhere the two surfaces, and keep down squeaking.
