Notching header for electrical???

I'm planning on having my basement stairs moved and before I do so, I've got to deal with some electrical issues.

The header (2x10s) for my for my new stair opening is going right below a partition which has a couple of electrical feeds going up into it.

My question is, is it okay to leave the existing electrical and to make a 1" notch on the top of the header to allow the lines to stay?

Thanks.

Header

What you are proposing to do will not satisfy electrical codes. Move the wiring away from the header.
