Welcome to the forums! Well, we won't be doing that again, will we? Do you possibly have a remnant of the matching carpet? If so, you can cut out a square around the damaged area; cut a matching square from the remnant; using a good carpet tape upside down under the existing cut out square, apply the new square in the hole. Of course a carpet installer can probably do a better permanent fix since they have the heaters, proper tape, etc. to make it invisible. I would opt for this if it exceeded 4 or 5 inches in diameter due to the stretch in the carpet. You may lose it if it is in a stress area.

Berber's kind of tricky, I'd hire a pro for this.
