Hanging non-pre-hung doors
Hey guys... I'm in the midst of a major remodel of our home. We have several old used doors (some are 24" some are 32", etc.) that we want to use in various entryways throughout the house. But these doors are not pre hung.
I've searched as well as I know how for some sort of tutorial on how to "hang" a door so that I can then install it, but I can't seem to find anything.
I'm hoping someone here can get me started in the right direction? Any help? thanks in advance.
Aram

Here's a good start for you:
Installing Interior Doors
A router and hinge cutting template will make the job a lot easier if the doors have never been hinged before.

awesome thanks. But I won't be removing doors and replacing them with other ones... I'll be framing in new walls and openings where there were no walls and openings previously - so we're talking new jams and trim, too.

All the better since you won't be trying to match the existing hinge pattern of an old jamb to a new door - talk about measure twice .... cut once...
I'd buy a pre-made jamb kit rather than ripping a new one on your own - less hassle
