floor joists

Hi, I am going to install a whirlpool corner tub in my bathroom and my question is, How would I go about increaseing the load cap. of my 2x6 floor joists? would sistering be good enough or cross bridgeing? There is a wall underneath the room about 4ft from the foundation wall. Thanks

you will be best served by talking to a structural engineer before checking with the local building permit office. you will most likely need a permit before adding that kind of weight to a floor.
water weight is approximatly 8.6lb per gall. how many gall is the new tub going to hold?

life begins when the kids leave home and the dog dies
