Concrete Nails
Hello,
I am putting a decorative facing on our fireplace of travertine stone. We want to add a raised step just in front of the fireplace that will also be covered with the stone. I have made a wooden box to provide the step surface which I need to secure to the concrete floor just in front of the fireplace. I want to do this with two 1 1/2" concrete nails that anchor steel tabs that are in turn screwed into the box.
At 1 1/2" depth do I run the risk of hitting any pipes that maybe in the pad/foundation, or is all of that much deeper? Maybe a silly question, but I had to ask.
Thanks,
--David

Probably not but what's in the area? Is there a cellar below where you can see where the pipes are going? There is nothing wrong with looking. It's better to be safe than sorry as they say.
