How much to hire someone to frame 24x40 basement (ontario)

We like to do things ourselves but are thinking of hiring someone to frame only the basement - we plan on drywall and ceiling ourselves....what is a reasonable estimate???.....price???

Basement is already insulated etc......frame only....thanks for any help...

No way to tell...unless there happens to be an Ontario based contractor here...which I don't think there is. Get multiple estimates...(5 or so), check licensing, insurance, standing with your local consumer agency, references from at least a year back. Call those references, visit them if possible...ask them how the contractor performed and how they decided on him. Check with the permitting office (from Holmes...I know everything in CA requires permits it seems) for problems.

Make sure he pulls permits, be there for all inspections, have a contract with absolute timelines, payment schedules (not just his estimate of 50%-75%- 90% finished) and reasons for termination. Ask for receipts for all materials. Never ever ever give him more money than the contract specifies.

There may be more...the Pro's will weigh in.

BUT, since this is a DIY forum........It ain't rocket science. You can do it. All you have to provide is the physical stuff. We can help you do the mental stuff, piece by piece if necessary.
