I want to add 1/8" plywood subfloor to my existing subfloor

As of right nwo I have my formal living room and dining room 1/8" off from the rest of the house. What I would like to do is buy 1/8" plywood to put over my exisiting floors to even out everything so I can run my floors throughout the house evenly. What I would like to know is how I would go about this. My existing subfloor is 3/4".
Should I nail the floors together? Should I screw them together? Do they need to be at the joist? Do I need glue between the floors? Should there by any gaps. Also because of this will I need to cut my dry wall to allow the second subfloor to go underneath it? Any help would be greatful. Thanks in advance.

What kind of finish floor will you have? 1/8 inch plywood is not what I would use. Truth is, I would probably just use a tapered transition if using hardwood, nothing if using carpet and a self-leveling compound if using tile.

I'd go with the transition as well.
