Replacing contractor question

Replacing contractor question

I have had a contractor framing my basement for the past month. He's apparently skipped town with a job that is 95% complete. How hard is it to get a replacement contractor or handyman or someone down there to finish the work? I normally would to this but due to a badly dislocated shoulder I'm out of commission for awhile.

It all depends on your local area and how hard you search.

I would start asking around among friends and coworkers for anyone that has had work done recently. Also lumber yards, plumbing and electrical supply stores (not big box places) should be able to provide names of some known good people. Still with anyone you need to do some checking to make sure they will do the quality of work you want and will stick around to finish the job.
