Framing wall in front of block

Hi, my home is built out of cement blocks and I want to frame in my living room wall. Do I need to attach the wood frame wall to the cement or can I just nail to the ceiling and floor? Thanks.

Normally a wood stud wall is not attached the block, just at the floor and ceiling. It's best to leave a small gap between the stud wall and the block.

The block wall is usually not perfect so you need to leave some space to allow for those imperfections in order to build a straight stud wall.
