Girder Beam Support

The drawings for my garage show a girder beam spanning the width of my garage in order to support the roof trusses. The load on the left side will be resting on a 4" slab (garage floor) and the right side on the foundation wall. Is this acceptable? Shouldn't there at least be a footing underneath the post on the left side?

Yes, usually you have footing under structural loads.

That's what I figured. Seems like the easiest thing to do would be to extend the foundation footing and stem wall inward a foot or two in that area to pick up the load, as opposed to pouring a footing right next to the stem wall. Like such:
