Support Beam Split?

My husband and I are looking for a house and came across an issue in a house we're interested in. There is what appears to be the main beam with a split (photo attached) and we are wondering how repairable this is. We are definite DIY'ers and have already redone my main home but now we're looking to get into a house without a mortgage but are afraid to put an offer in on this house if the repair is too extensive..

Can you point out the split or provide a close up where the split is visible?

If it were your house, I would say that it could be repaired with some steel plates. Since it's not your house & you don't know what other damage exists, I would forget about it.

Besides the split (not sure where it is in the photo), is that all water damage? If so, I agree with Donato.
