extension on wall
Hello everyone,
I have a unique question in that I already have a wall that has metal studs and is drywalled, but it needs to be extended up by 4 feet. The extension by 4 feet isn't going to go all the wall to the ceiling either. Is there a very easy way that I can cheaply extend it up without using metal studs and sheetrock. It needs to be flame resistant so it cannot be composed of wood. It doesn't need to look good either. Anything that I can paint white will work. And the joints don't need to be taped. I was thinking about maybe using sheets of foamboard to do it. The longest wall is 10' in length. I only need to do this to hide the wires behind it from plain site. I don't think it will need to resistant anything structurally.

It can't be metal, it can't be wood, it can't be flammable & you don't want to use drywall. Did you look at the price of foam board? 40"x60" $261.00

Foam board is flammable.
Sounds like the easiest is to either build a wall on top or take it down and rebuild!
