Filling gaps and holes in hardwood floor
I have just sanded hardwood floor in my house (I think it's oak hardwood floor), and noticed several spots with "holes" (not all the way through--more like "small pothole in a road" kind of thing) and noticeable gaps in some areas (perhaps about 1/8 inch wide). I learned that these need to be filled (e.g. with wood filler). I am planning to use Tung oil with natural solvent to seal the wood (instead of using polyurethane). Is it a problem if I do the filling after the Tung oil? My reasoning is that the filler is not natural wood anyway, and won't be affected/covered by the oil, so I can do something else to match the color of the filled area.
