Adhesive for laminate floor fascia?

My house has a four inch step down. Both levels are laminate on slab and within a few years, before we sell the place or after the kids have moved out, we will replace the laminate with something else. The current flooring isn't the best quality and I assume the last owner quickly popped it into place before putting the house on the market, but it is well enough for now and redoing the flooring is way down my to-do list.

The fascia on one of the step downs has come completely loose.. It is really just a "board" of laminate topped by a piece of trim. I see some laminate floor adhesive on the box store's websites, but they seem focused mostly on keeping the horizontal flooring from slipping and though I may be missing it, I don't see anything saying it is for vertical application.

Are these the products I should use or is something else suggested for vertical installations that is strong enough to hold it upright, but not so strong that it will be a giant pain when I replace the floor.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
