Fixing Framing in ballroom wall with plumbing

Can someone suggest how I repair the framing of this wall/ceiling so I could Sheetrock.bI’m trying not to build out the wall to maximize space. Currently the plumbing pipes protrude out just as far as the studs. Since this isn’t a structural wall I’m guessing I don’t need mich, just enough to hand the sheet rock over it.

I would probably suggest you just apply a minimum of 2x2s directly onto the existing studs, fastening them wherever you can, being careful to avoid nailing into any pipes when you attach the 2x2s. Reason I would use 2x2 is so that you don't need to protect any of the pipes or wires with no nail plates and so that you (or anyone else)are in no danger of hitting any of the pipes or wires with your 1 1/4" drywall screws.

That electrical should be run through holes bored in the existing studs, with romex nails securing them as needed in the center of the wall assembly per NEC requirements.

I like that idea of using 2x2 on the front of the studs. My only question is the rough in for the toilet drain. That was set at 12 1/2” from the existing studs. Will i have to move that to account for the additional 1 1/2” from the 2x2 ?

Ugh. Yeah, it would screw that up.
