Stairlift DIY Installation
I would like to get input stairlift DIY installation and a recommendation of brand that you have had experience. I'll understand some members don't like to mention brands, but any info on specs or details would be of help, This is for a straight stairs, 13 steps and 13 ft 6 in.
I rather not do a pro install at this time, but if you had experience with this I would appreciate any pointers.

I've only done one... a r/r (remove and replace) and it was a Bruno Elite. Wasn't too hard. Biggest problem you will have is getting them to sell you the kit without their installation. The dealer will want to ensure it's installed properly and get service behind the sale, etc.

I've removed several. I've installed two.... Bruno SRE-3000's.
You need to be handy and follow directions closely.
You can find them used on ebay, craigs list and probably FB sellers market.
Expect to replace the batteries on any used unit.
If it's only needed for a limited time... some companies will install and buy back after use.
Look into that too.

Any problems getting replacements parts for DIY installed units ? I know batteries are usually standard sizes, so that should not be an issue. I have carpeted stairs. Do the install instructions give the screw size and type for the mounting brackets/feet?

I wouldn't necessarily call the Bruno units "DIY".
It may be difficult to buy outright as most of their sales are to dealers.
The batteries are sealed lead acid and can be obtained many places.
I haven't needed any parts from Bruno yet.
Was looking around and found this..... Ameriglide DIY systems

Any experience with the chair swivel feature for the top of the stairs, especially between manual and motorized ? Would seem to be a necessity, at least for my application.
