2x4 framing turned "sideways"

Hello, my entire house was built in the 1950s with the 2x4s all turned sideways.

I am trying to replace all the interior doors but standard door jambs wont work. Will i have to custom build the door jambs?

Any input would help!

Image to see what i am working with.

The only way to use a normal prehung would be to build the wall out. It's possible a mobile home supply would have prehungs to fit 2x2 framing. Could you just buy slabs and reuse your existing jambs?

The old jambs are metal and new hardware doesn't work, also there is no way to hang trim traditionally around door frame.
