Need Advice on restoring vaneer headboard
Hello All,
I recently purchased a beautiful headboard/footboard that has cracked real wood vaneer running down both sides of each piece. I would appreciate advice on where to find replacement vaneer as well as advice on taking off the old and replacing with the new. Thank you so much!
Debbie

You can remove the old veneer by wetting it and peeling it off. The hide glue that was typically used will release when wet with warm water.
Here is a site will all manner of veneer and supplies.

Depending upon the damage, the veneer that is physically intact can be relaid.
Hope this helps.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply. The Vaneer appears to have had water damage or something like it....The vaneer and board behind it has literally cracked and lifted in several places, but only down the sides of the bed thank goodness. The partical board underneath is still in good condition. I will go to the site you recommended, but still appreciate any advice you can offer since I am worse than a complete novice! :-)
Thank you in advance!
