unfinished cedar chest

A family member made me a cedar chest when I was a child and it is still in excellent condition. I will NEVER stain or paint this beautiful thing. However, it is starting to appear dry on the inside (beginning to show cracks). Is there an oil - lemon? - that I can put on the inside that will not diminish the appearance nor the cedar smell that I love so much?

Many companies sell a cedar oil for the purpose you have in mind. Don't know how it will affect the appearance, but it will rejuventae the aroma.

Google "cedar oil" to find on line suppliers and read their specifications.
