Convert Double Headboard and Footboard to accommodate Queen Matress - no metal

I am looking for a creative way to convert a bed I want to buy...it only comes in full, but I have a queen size mattress. I do not want to use any metal in the frame; I'd like to keep it all wood if possible. I wouldn't mind going to a platform bed option either. Would it be possible to somehow incorporate the use of a platform bed queen frame (like say from West Elm) and attach it to the new headboard and footboard? I appreciate your help! Thanks!

The problem I see with a full head/foot board and queen mattress is the width difference of the two. How will you expand the headboard to be wide enough for the queen? I don't know of a way to do that.
