Changing headboard of bed

I'd really like to use a couple of old doors as a headboard, but didn't know how difficult it would be. Or if it would work because of the wooden frame attached to the footboard & headboard. Can you take a headboard off of a bed like this?
Thanks a bunch!

You could cut the headboard just above where the slat is that goes to the other side and then mount your 'door headboard' to the wall.
