Vintage metal bookcase question

Hello...I'm in need of ID'ing and sourcing a couple dozen shelf pegs/brackets as shown in the attached image. Nothing readily available in hardware stores, or even what I've found online seem to work. Any ideas would be immensely appreciated!

How wide are the shelves? how much weight is put on them?
You might take a strip of steel and bend it with pliers to make your own brackets.

It's unfortunately meant to hold quite a few hard cover books, so it'll be heavy. Worth a shot though!

If the original brackets held the weight, making new ones out of the same gauge steel should be ok. You just don't want to use thinner steel.
