Newly refinished

I have just completed my refinishing job on my coffee table. I have used 3 coats of Tung Oil on it and it looks lovely! Should I consider using a light coat of wax (Minwax) or other, or should this finish be enough for my 3 'don't know what coasters are' children/husband?

While wax makes pieces easier to dust, it offers absolutely NO protection against moisture. I guess you just need to continue your educational efforts with husband and son as to the efficacy of coasters...

One ray of sunshine, however; tung oil is a very easy finish to rejuvenate - just scuff lightly and apply another coat.

One final thought: if you used 100% pure tung oil, the surface should be impervious to water; the Chinese used tung oil centuries ago to waterproof their boats...
