26'x16' deck

I need to refinish floor decking, I have re-set the screws and ready to sand. What sander would be the best to rent to do the job? I would like to do the deck flooring with a dark stain. Question: Which stain will give me the longest life span? Or is there something other then stain that will give me the true wood grain look?

Thank you,

Dante

Dependinding on what type wood you have usually determines whether it needs sanded at all. Most pros do not sand. They have the strippers, cleaners, brighteners, and pressure washer to make old wood look like it is new.

There is no stain which will give a true grain wood look. Any grain in a wood deck is from the wood itself with a stain applied/soaked in. So you need to decide what color you prefer. The colored (toned) oilbase penetrating stains give the most uv protection.

What kind of wood do you have and what type weather exposure does it receive?
