Hi

I have a mahogany sideboard I am turning into
a bathroom vanity. The existing finish is lacquer and I would prefer not to sand and
refinish. What would be the best way to seal the sideboard against water damage?

You can use Zip-Guard Oil-based Urethane. It adheres really well over laquer, but NOT the water-based Zip-Guard. You can do 2 or 3 coats, and it is very water-resistant.
