Stain over white-wash furniture?
I have a pine bedroom set (log-type) that was originally finished with a white-wash. I would like to refinish it with a medium brown oak finish.
Will this work? What sort of prep would be needed?

Just strip the old finish, then stain and finish. Stripping will leave you with bare wood so you can stain the color you please, then apply a clear finish.
