rafters in bath

hey
ive got 3 white oak exposed rafters in my bathroom. i was thinking of sealing with deck sealant or even sikkens cetol 1( happen to have) my thought was if its good for outdoor weather OK for moist bath?

If you have a problem with moisture in your bath, correct the inadequate exhaust ventilation. Then you can coat your wood with almost any finish.

I agree with chfite. If the wood is in nice shape I believe it would look good with poly or varnish on it.

no moiture problem ie.. fan and window, just that there will be moisture at some limited time. this is a new installation and i was just curious about sealer and poly. thanks though

Personally I would stain and poly [or just poly] a color to suit me. Poly and varnish both come in 3 sheens [satin,semi, and gloss] Since its your home pic what you like and go with it.
