Stripping a guitar

Stripping a guitar

Hey guys, I have been trying to strip the paint off of this guitar body, but the stuff I tried Ready Strip (green goop) did NOTHING at all. Im no sure what kinda wood this is and Im not sure what they paint this with, but I have put pictures below, to see that will help any. Any help would be great

You sir are CORRECT!!!!! it is not working for some odd reason, but this should do , I just tested it and it works PERFECT

I would be leary of using a chemical stripper on a guitar. I assume guitars are made of a thin laminate material = usually don't strip well. Can't you sand it well and refinish?

I have had this encounter with a guitar, even with our industrial gade stripper. I think some guitars might be painted with and epoxy type paint. I would recommend taking it to a professional for stripping or sand it if you are planning on repainting it.

The best way is to just sand it down. dont use chemicals!!!
