Stripping a guitar

Hey guys, I have been trying to strip the paint off of this guitar body, but the stuff I tried Ready Strip (green goop) did NOTHING at all. Im no sure what kinda wood this is and Im not sure what they paint this with, but I have put pictures below, to see that will help any. Any help would be great

I would be leary of using a chemical stripper on a guitar. I assume guitars are made of a thin laminate material = usually don't strip well. Can't you sand it well and refinish?

I have had this encounter with a guitar, even with our industrial gade stripper. I think some guitars might be painted with and epoxy type paint. I would recommend taking it to a professional for stripping or sand it if you are planning on repainting it.
