Question Colored wax stain on wood

My wife lit a candle last night in a Holloween canister and it dripped out onto the top of a china cabinet, we have removed the wax from the surface but there is a stain in the color of the wax on the surface, How do we get the stain out

Not sure what type of finish your cabinet might have, but the first thing I would try is a cotton ball and a bit of denatured alcohol. (this type of alcohol is sold in quart cans and is next to the paint thinner in stores).

If the wax color comes off on the swab, discard it and use a fresh cotton ball, and repeat. Be cautious as you do this, wiping lightly, since too much wiping could also remove the furniture finish if it is shellac.
