How many coats of poly do I need to put on newly refinished kitchen cabinets? Thanks,Loralie

I generally use three coats of poly on my wood projects with a light sanding with very fine sandpaper between coats (make sure you get all the dust removed before all coats).

Ya, it's hard to get a nice finish with less than 3 coats of poly. As TG mentioned, hand sand with 220 grit sandpaper [fine grit sanding sponges also work well] between coats and remove the dust.
