Remove stain from untreated hardwood table.

I have an outdoor hardwood table which had patches of candlewax on it for an extended period of time. I scaped the wax off and gave the table a scrub with sugar soap and hot water. Patches of dark stain remain. How can I even out the colour of the wood before I put a timber finish on it. Please help!

Stain's not coming out. Best bet is to apply a dark colored stain to seal the table and cover the wax.

you could try a wood bleach or oxcylic acid, but the stain may be too deep or you may beach everything around it worse.

Wood contaminated by wax or oil will have adhesion problems when applying stains and finishes.
