Question Water stain on unfinished oak window

Last week We just installed a new Oak bay window in my daughters house. We unfortunately did not get it sealed good enough and we had a day of heavy rain. Water leaked in at the top and we have some staining from it. Does anyone have an idea of how to remove that stain as she did not want to stain the wood darker than normal. She was just going to put clear finish on it and let it go. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Wipe the wood down with paint thinner and let it dry. That may be all that is needed.

Welcome to the forums Carol

I doubt washing with thinner will help. If the stain isn't too deep, sanding will remove it. Be sure to sand with the direction of the grain.
