4.5' x 5' MDF board

Where can I buy 4.5' x 5' MDF board in Atlanta? I checked at all the usual places, Lowes, Home Depot, Lummus, Randalls, they all carried 4x8 as the maximum sizes. My width is 4.5' and no one carried. Can someone suggest?

Thanks,
Mallik

That may be a tough search since the standard size for plywoods, mdf's, particle board, etc is 4'. What kind of project/application are we talking about.

for a ping pong table

I am planning to make a ping pong table. The standard size of a ping pong table is 5' x 9' or 2 halves of ( 5' x 4.5') joined in the middle. If it doesn't work out any cheaper, I may just go and buy the ping pong table.
But I think I should be able to build a good one under $75, instead of $300 or so.

Would several pieces glued together work? with a 4x8 piece of plywood underneath to support it.

Would prefer to get two halves, if I don't get one then I will end up joining 4 quarters 2.5 x 4.5

You need to ask for 5x10 MDF. Any local lumberyard should be able to order it for you. (not Lowe's or HD).

For more info, Google:

+MDF +"5x10"
