Distressing Alder wood

I just bought two front doors that are made of Alder that were beautifully distressed.. We put up trim around them that is just plain flat alder. I would like to distress the trim and if there are any suggestions wonderful.

Welcome to the forums duidu

There are different ways to get a distressed look. However, getting it to match the door may be the difficult part which is really going to be up to you and take a good eye.

Are you sure you want to do it to the trim? Not saying it would look bad but on a personal note, I'd want the trim to match the rest of the trim work in the rest of the house. Now...w/that said...

Getting the similar "look" of it is going to be up to you. George explains different ways to distress wood very well in this previous thread:

I'm sure others will chime in here soon

BTW: I moved your thread over to the Furniture, Wood and Cabinetry Finishing.
