Finishing an Unfinished wood toychest
#1
I just purchased an unfinished wood toychest. I decided to draw cartoon characters on it, and was going to paint it. However, there are many intricate details that would make it hard to paint. Is it possible to use maybe markers or colored pencils and then put a coat of polyuerathane over it? Would it seal in the markers or pencils? I hope you can help!
Thanks!

Gel:
As long as the pencils/markers/whatever are NOT wax based (no crayons allowed!) you should be all right.
Try each of the marking instruments you plan to use on a scrap of wood and then coat the scrap with the poly as a test first.
