During my first attempt to refinish an old table, I decided to "finish" my table with tung oil. I got somewhat impatient with the job and believe that I put on a second coat before the wood was ready. The second coat is now dry, but I have some streaks on the surface. I've tried using 000 steel wool, but it hasn't helped. Any suggetions??

Wip the surface with paint thinner, While the surface is wet, if you can still see the streaks you're going to have to sand them out.

I would suggest 320 Wet/Dry (or 400 if that's not readily available) lubricated with water.

Check periodically with the paint thinner wipe to see if they're (the streaks) are gone.

Continue your finishing when they've been eliminated. Be sure to stir any finish thoroughly before you apply it.
