restoration of a 1960's teak veneer sideboard

I have just found a 1960's stonehill teak veneer sideboard with a 'please take me' post-it note on it!

She is in need of some loving care... All the doors and draws are in good condition. However, there is some water damage staining, a little paint mark and general wear that seem to add a little too much patina.

I am determined to try and restore this old girl myself but want to keep it as original as I can. I am not too sure what the finish is. Oil, varnish, stain or all of these? once I know what it is I will need to know how to best remove and re-finish the veneer.

please help

Errol

Welcome to the forums! Would it be possible for you to post a couple of pictures on a site such as photobucket.com and copy/paste the HTML code to your reply post? I am sure most of the addicts would like to have a look at this before we spout advice. Most of us like to keep things original as well.
