Question Refinishing kitchen cabinets

I have oak cupboards in my kitchen, and I've decided that I'd like to redo them with a white wash finish. My question is, if I'm going to be using a stripper to remove the current finish, do I still need to start by washing with TSP? It has been a while since they've been properly scrubbed down, and they've got a bit of a build up on them.

Welcome to the forums!

Since you are chemically stripping the current finish, I wouldn't think there would be much need to clean them first...... unless they are really gooey

You could clean just one and then strip two and let us know if there is any difference

I'm with Mark, I think the stripper would be sufficient.
