Can I stain wood if it's raining outside?

Hello. Quick question. I have a table and benches that are bare pine and are ready to be stained/sealed. They are in my carport, which is covered, but obviously it's open air. It is raining outside, but the wood is dry and there is no water in the carport itself. Is it ok to stain during these conditions, or do I need to wait it out? Thanks in advance.

Staining will be fine. If you are going to apply any type of coating like polyurethane, you may want to wait for less humid conditions.

Thanks for the advice. Was able to get all of the staining knocked out tonight.

Applying such things in the rain would be a bad idea but I know you knew that already

Otherwise, higher humidity means longer drying or curing time which can be a problem so judgment is needed.
