Used wrong color "scratch stick" (minwax)

I attempted to cover scratches on a fruitwood table, and the stick color was too dark.

I tried to remove with mineral spirits, no luck, then hydrogen peroxide, no luck...

Suggestions appreciated

Did you scrub with mineral spirits or just wipe? Sometimes you have to add a little elbow grease

I wouldn't think the mineral spirits would loose strength although I don't think I ever got any to stick around that long

You might try a little lacquer thinner or even some fingernail polish remover if you have some handy. Go slow and easy with either one or you might take off more than you want to
