I have just stripped and sanded an oak table, it still has some discoloring, how should I clean the surface to prepare for finishing?

Discoloration after sanding usually means water stains. They can be removed with oxalicacid, available form most paint stores and home centers.

Go over the entire top for uniformity of action - the bleach will attack the stains more heavily than the color of the wood itself.

You should see results within 60 seconds of applying. On some stains, two applications are necessary.
