refinishing baby crib

How do I loosen the joints on the rails of a wooden baby crib? There are about five coats of paints on the rails. I need to refinish the crib.

Most cribs have, in addition to the glue, hardware that holds the rails together. This must be removed first. Most glue will loosen with an application of warm white vinegar. What you're probably going to find, however, is that you'll wind up stripping the crib without dismantling it.
