Berkline recliner

Hi All, not sure if this the right forum,but I have an old comfortable Berkline recliner that the foot rest will not latch in the down position and I am trying to find a way o adjust it some how.

Sometimes it's worn pivot points or even a rivet at a pivot point that's broken completely. I'd flip the chair on it's side and remove the fabric covering the bottom. Move the lever and foot rest through it's range of motion wiggling and inspecting where each linkage connects. They are usually just steel rivets in a hole. If one is too loose or completely missing they can sometimes be drilled out and replaced with a bolt.

Removing 3M double sided tape from cabinets

I have some under cabinet lighting that was attached with 3M double sided sticky tape. I need to reposition the lighting because it was not installed in the proper location. I'm not sure how (or even if I can) remove the 3M tape without damaging the finish on the cabinets. Of course, the tape is on the under side of the cabinets where it's not easily seen. However, I still don't want to damage the finish. I can cut the tape with a razor to release the light fixture but need to find a safe way to remove the tape and residue. I'm not sure what type of finish is on the wood. I'm assuming it's some type of polyurethane.Read More

Hi Guys. This is my first post on this forum, and i hope that i choose right category. With my wife we have plan to build our own bed with drawers.
