Heat damaged table

Hi All,

I came across this website when I was researching about a way to rescue our table damaged by heat.

I have tried many ways to remove the stain - but it did not seem to work
- iron on damp cloth
- using Silver polish as mentioned in the below thread

Unfortunately, the thread is now closed so I can not post directly on that.

When I applied the silver polish, the scratches on the table seem more visible. I haven't really seen much effect in term of removing the stain yet.

Please could anyone advise - should I continue with the silver polish method, i.e. I haven't tried hard enough ? or is there any other way that I can use to restore the finish.

At the moment it looks white cloud on top of the table

Welcome to the forums.

The people in that old thread are no longer here so they would be of no help to you. If you wanted to contact one person in particular you could click on their name and send them a Personal Message.

Otherwise hang tight and the pros will stop thru here and offer you help.

Thanks both, I am sure I will be hoovering around this forum a lot.
I just bought a new place and now really in the mood of DIY.

And yes I have also tried ironning on dry cloth but it did not work for this case either.
I am not sure if it because I haven't pressed it hard enough, or it just simply mean that it is not the right method for this case.

Appreciate any further suggestion.
