Frame for TV mounts

I am doing a DIY project to mount my TV on the dry wall. I want the tv to move vertically. So I am planning to use 2x4s wood to build a frame with guide rails and a ball screw mechanism (with motor) to get the vertical motion. Now I want the whole system to be compact and light weight so that it hides behind the tv (65 inches). One of my friend said that if I used 2x4 wood for the whole frame it would make it heavier, rather I should consider metal plates along with 2x4s (wood + metal).
Please advice how to achieve this. I am a beginner so don't have much expertise or tools or access to resources. I have few power tools to cut and trim wood. Any advice would be helpful.

Ps.: The project is not a tv lift that hides inside the cabinet, that you usually see in youtube videos. This would be mounted on a regular dry wall.
