Peephole mishap!
I decided to install a peephole in our main door, which is made of wood. Stupidly, I must have given the drill hole a slight angle as the external hole (I started internal) is off-centered enough to be quite noticeable.
By drilling out the angle from the inside, I can shift the external peephole so that it appears much more centered. But now there is of course some give. The peephole length is just a tad too long for the door, so that a few millimeters stick out. This means the peephole can't provide its own pressure to hold itself to the door.
Any suggestions on stabilizing the peephole? I've wedged in toothpicks or paper, which is okay, but maybe there's a better product or trick out there.

Or find a large enough washer for the peephole to fit through and cover the hole. Stainless steel or brass shouldn't be that difficult to find unless it's one of those large diameter types. Or you could use regular steel and paint it.

Thanks! Both options sound quite doable.
The hole itself is not unsightly on either end, because the outside lens is big enough to cover the small drill distance I shifted it, but the washer could allow the peephole flared ends to tighten against the door itself. Wonder if they come in antique bronze...

Try drawer knob rosettes: https://www.google.com/search?as_st=...ights=#imgrc=_
You will probably have to drill out the center hole larger.
