Wood table surface

All, I am trying to fix this as soon as possible. This is an heirloom in my wife’s family. I put my laptop on it and without thinking I pushed it. Caused these finish scratches that she will notice immediately when she walks by it one day and the light hits it. How do I make this go away?

Those don't look deep, I would try buffing them with a towel or something first,

Alright so I tried to buff them out with a towel, I also checked if it was a rubber residue or something similar left behind by my laptop sliding across the wood that could simply be removed.

What I discovered is that the wood has a very light shine to it, and where the legs of my laptop slid across, the shine is now much brighter which is making the scratches stand out.

If it's just a sheen issue, buffing it out with furniture or floor wax should help. I'm partial to the Johnson paste wax.
