Table top epoxy hold up to heat tolerance??

Hello,

I'm renovating my kitchen and would like to add a wooden countertop coated with several layers of epoxy. How does the table top epoxy hold up to heat? I won't be moving things straight off the stove onto the counter, but hot things will touch it from time to time I'm sure.

Epoxy is not good with heat. It's basically a plastic. If you can hold your hand to something indefinitely then the epoxy can withstand it. Hotter than that and you need another material or hot pads to protect the epoxy.

That would be like putting a hot pan on top of your wood kitchen table without a pad, most likely going to leave a mark!
